Birds of Otero Mesa
There are many opportunities for birding in the Greater Otero
Mesa Area. From over 200 species of migratory songbirds to numerous
birds of prey, Otero Mesa is certainly a birders paradise. These
are just a few of the species you may encounter while roaming
the expansive grasslands, climbing one of the Cornudas mountains,
or watching a bird of prey swooping from its nest built high within
a towering yucca.
